Take an Extended Look at James Gunn’s Horror Film, ‘Brightburn’

James Gunn has returned tor social media since being reinstated as the director for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. With the director’s social and professional redemption, fans can once again get the corkie takes, sneak peaks, and extended looks that made Gunn’s Twitter account famous. In post to Twitter, Gunn shared an exclusive extended trailer for his upcoming horror film, Brightburn.

Brightburn tells a familiar superhero story with a twist. What if an all-powerful being landed on Earth, but instead of processing Kal-El’s moral integrity, it used its powers for something more sinister? The film sees a super powered alien child crash-land in small-town middle America – much like Superman. However, instead of becoming the world’s greatest hero, Brightburn follows the story of a corrupt child using his super powers to terrorize his adopted community.

In addition to Gunn releasing the extended trailer, the director also Tweeted new poster for the upcoming horror project. The Tweet was the director’s first post to social media since July of last year. Gunn took the moment to appeal to his fans about his journey in making this film, “Our hearts and hands are busted making this movie for you guys. Join us in watching it on Friday, May 24, in theaters everywhere.”
