Synkronized Distribution Acquires Rights For Crime Drama ‘The Vortex’

U.S. based film distribution company, Synkronized Distribution, acquired world rights for the new crime drama, The Vortex. The film will be represented by Iuvit Media Sales at the upcoming European Film Market in Berlin. 

Directed by Richard Zelniker and written by Stephen Barr, the film stars Billy Gardell, Jaina Lee Ortiz, and Jamie McShane. It follows an in-house comedian at the MGM Grand Casino on the Las Vegas Strip, who is struggling with a gambling addiction and is forced to make a life-altering decision. The film involves a Native American Paiute cleaning lady who comes to the casino and has strange and unexplained events occurring around her. The film surrounds the 1980 MGM Grand fire in Las Vegas. 

Other cast members include Christopher Titus, Azita Ghanizada, Nick Gomaz, Emily Alabi, Jeremy Luke, Mary Scheer, Nick Gracer, Yolanda Snowball, and Shann Sharma. The Vortex is produced by Lucid Pictures with Olliecorp, Richard Zelniker, Adriana Rotaru, Callie Nguyen Zelniker, and Justin Richards. 

Gardel is represented by UTA and Artist Management International. Lee Ortiz is represented by Verve and Link Entertainment. McShane is represented by Paradigm and Trademark Talent. Richard is represented by Sovereign Talent Group. 

Other films that will be represented by Iuvit at the European Film Market include Johnny Puff Secret Mission, A Great Adventure, The Reunion, A Day Like a Week, Stand Your Ground, and Fight Pride.
