IMMACULATE is a religious experience to watch with a crowd, containing jump scares that had me almost flying out of my seat and violence that had me horrifically glued to the screen. Sydney Sweeney is undefeated. Suffering is enough. #SXSW pic.twitter.com/jWLiuHoVUt

Some, like IndieWire’s Rafael Motamayor, were put off by Immaculate, saying it “never provides a cohesive narrative to support the genuinely interesting and bonkers ending to this Italian convent nightmare.” Read the full review here.
Immaculate’s synopsis reads “An American nun embarks on a new journey when she joins a remote convent in the Italian countryside. However, her warm welcome quickly turns into a living nightmare when she discovers her new home harbours a sinister secret and unspeakable horrors.” Immaculate also stars Simona Tabasco, Álvaro Morte, Benedetta Porcaroli, and Dora Romano.
Immaculate releases in theaters on March 22, 2024.
