Sydney Sweeney To Star In and Produce New Film ‘Immaculate’

Sydney Sweeney, most known for her break-out role on HBO’s Euphoria, will star and produce a psychological horror film titled Immaculate with Black Bear Pictures. Sweeney will rejoin director Michael Mohan, after previously working together on The Voyeurs in 2021. The script will be written by Andrew Lobel and the principal photography will begin in January 2023.

In the film, Sweeney will play a faithful woman, Cecilia, who takes a fulfilling new role at an illustrious Italian convent. Despite her warm welcome to the beautiful and seemly perfect Italian countryside, she is swiftly met with the horrific reality of her new environment. She is met with dark and chilling secrets.

In the last few years, Sweeney has built a catalog of acting credits and is on a journey to becoming a household name. She has just recently been announced as the lead in Sony’s “Barbarella” reboot and Universal Pictures’ “The Caretaker,” as well as starring in Sony’s upcoming Marvel film “Madame Web.” She has also received Emmy nominations for the HBO series “Euphoria” and “The White Lotus.”

Sweeney and Jonathan Davino will produce for Fifty-Fifty Films alongside “The White Lotus” executive producer David Bernad, who co-developed the project with Sweeney. Teddy Schwarzman and Michael Heimler from Black Bear will also join the team to produce. Along the side of Black Bear’s John Friedberg and Christopher Casanova, who will executive produce along with Will Greenfield. Black Bear will fully finance the project.
