‘Superman’ Updates Come Out From James Gunn

As the current summer movie season picks up more steam, James Gunn has been steadily working on production for the upcoming Superman. With a new development in production, Gunn offered a new update on how the process has been going. James Gunn’s new Superman is meant to reboot the DC film universe, following the DCEU’s conclusion with Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom. The update that Gunn had posted involved production wrapping up in Cleveland, Ohio.

The post, from Gunn’s page on Threads, saw him reminiscing over seeing the area on a scouting location, and even recalling how the colors of Superman were being reflected on the Terminal Tower. The post will be linked below.

Gunn also noted how so many people would stop him on the street to express their gratitude over his choice to pick their town as a filming location. As Deadline reports, Gunn made it clear when responding to a question on Threads that the shooting is not concluded yet, only shooting in Cleveland. He confirmed that there are “still a couple weeks left” till the completion of filming.

Details for the film are currently unknown in regards to the story, but it is known that the cast includes David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.

Superman will hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
