Following the trailer’s debut a few weeks ago, a new extended version of the Superman trailer has been released. The trailer, specifically formatted for IMAX, displayed some new and alternate footage from the upcoming film.
Superman is the next film from James Gunn, the director of other comic book films such as the Guardians Of The Galaxy trilogy, as well as The Suicide Squad. The premise finds Superman, already in the cape, learning how to balance his upbringing with his heritage as more new threats emerge.
James Gunn is responsible for writing the script, as well as serving as a producer. Peter Safran is also credited as a producer, with the two working together to kick off a new cinematic universe for DC with Superman.
Soon to follow Superman will be Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow in 2026, as well as Swamp Thing and The Brave And The Bold, among others.
ComicBookMovie.com notes that the trailer showed some alternate footage of Mister Terrific, one of the supporting characters of the film.
Included in the extended version was also an alternate shot of main villain Lex Luthor, as well as some extended shots of an action scene involving Luthor and Superman.
Superman flies into theaters July 11th. Check out the trailer below.
