Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap buildings in a single bound, and now streaming on home video. James Gunn’s Superman is available to rent or own on digital.
Superman tells the story of Clark Kent as he learns how to use his extraterrestrial powers for the good of mankind. But when Lex Luthor uncovered the unknown truth of his alien heritage, Clark has to learn how Superman fits into the human race, and learn how to be the person he wants to be.
In its run at the box office, Superman made quite a strong show in the domestic market. Over half its gross came from national theaters, making $337 million since its July 11th debut, per BoxOfficeMojo. International has been less successful comparatively, making $251 million, for a worldwide cume of $588 million.
After James Gunn himself confirmed on X that the streaming debut of Superman would be August 15th, MovieWeb noted that it’s something of a peculiar case.
Not only was Superman still flying high in terms of earnings, but early reports from WhenToStream estimated an August 26th debut on streaming. MovieWeb even went so far as to note that a streaming release coming this soon isn’t completely out of the norm, but questions are being raised with it being pushed up a few weeks, as well as continuously strong performance.
