‘Supergirl’ Reportedly Screens Over Eight Different Test Screenings

Milly Alcock as Kara-El/Supergirl in 'Supergirl'

As Supergirl revs up for its upcoming June release, the film has begun test screenings. According to an article by World of Reel, the film has undergone over eight test screenings, each with different content.

These differences reportedly range from subtle ones, such as more scenes involving Clark Kent/Superman, to more overt differences, including completely different musical scores. The reactions to these test screenings reportedly range from positive to middling. However, it must be stressed that these reports are coming exclusively from World of Reel, with very few other sources to support them.

Supergirl stars Milly Alcock as the titular heroine, Kara-El, Clark Kent/Superman’s cousin. The film is the second feature in the new DC Universe, which began with last year’s Superman. Not much is known of the film’s narrative, except that it’s described as a space adventure heavily inspired by the Supergirl: Women of Tomorrow comics written by Tom King. It is directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira. The rest of the cast includes David Krumholtz as Kara-El’s father, Zor-El; Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, the little girl Kara-El ends up having to protect; Matthias Schoenaerts as the film’s main antagonist, Krem of the Yellow Hills; and Jason Mamoa as Lobo.

Supergirl will be released in theaters on June 26th.
