Like with Cloverfield eight years ago, producer-director-marketing guru J.J. Abrams isn’t budging on giving away too much on 10 Cloverfield Lane, a sequel-something-or-other which the Star Wars: The Force Awakens director is overseeing. After a sneak attack teaser came up out of nowhere, the Super Bowl provided another opportunity to tease away.
Directed by Dan Trachtenberg and starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Smashed), John Gallagher, Jr. (Short Term 12) and John Goodman (Inside Llewyn Davis), 10 Cloverfield Lane features the bare bones logline of: “Waking up from a car accident, a young woman finds herself in the basement of a man who says he’s saved her life from a chemical attack that has left the outside uninhabitable.”
The screenplay was written by Josh Campbell, Matthew Stuecken and Damien Chazelle (Oscar nominated screenwriter of Whiplash). The film is slated to open on March 11th, check out the latest trailer below:
