Many fans of the hit dystopian movie franchise The Hunger Games have been wondering for years what main character Katniss’s mentor experienced during his time in the games. Now we will finally have our answer.
Author Suzanne Collins, the writer of The Hunger Games, has written a book covering that very topic, and Lionsgate has announced a movie adaptation. This new story, titled Sunrise on the Reaping, will be on shelves this week.
Producer Nina Jacobson, in an interview with Variety, was asked about her process working in tandem with the book’s release. Her response was as follows:
This is a very different process for us. I’ve never actually worked on an adaptation like this, where you’re so far ahead of the book, and yet people are waiting for it. I knew that she was working on another book, but I really had no idea – it could be years! I certainly did not expect that so soon after “Ballad.”
Until now, very little has been known about Haymitch’s Hunger Games were like. Now, with answers on the horizon, people will not only be flocking to bookstores to find out, and hopefully soon, they will be flocking to theaters as well.
