Hayao Miyazaki’s final film How Do You Live? will have an Imax release, announced by Japan’s Studio Ghibli. How Do You Live? is the most anticipated film coming to Japanese theaters and will be released in Japan on July 14th. Miyazaki’s How Do You Live? is his first film getting an Imax release along with premium formats of Dolby Atmos, Dolby Cinema, and DTS: X.
Miyazaki is 82 years old, and How Do You Live? is said to be his final feature in a decade but he did work on The Wind Rises. How Do You Live? is a film of “grand fantasy” stated by Studio Ghibli as it is more or less inspired by the Japanese author Genzaburo Yoshino’s 1937 novel, How Do You Live? which is a coming-of-age story about a 15-year-old boy and his uncle as they deal with strong emotions, spirituality, poverty, and the human experience.
Little is known about the film as the lead producer of Studio Ghibli Toshio Suzuki stated that the studio would not release any trailers or promotional material, as he’s encouraging fans to see the film unbiased. The only thing that has been released about How Do You Live? was a movie poster back in December.
