The incredible success of the hit series Invincible has put the show’s star, Steven Yeun, in a unique position as fans float around the question: what would live-action version of the show look like? The fact of the matter is that Yeun would be unable to perform the lead role of Mark Grayson. While audiences love his voice performance as Grayson, the forty-year-old actor is far too old to play as Invincible’s teen superhero regardless of how youthful his voice still sounds.
In an interview with Screen Rant for his new film Love Me, Yeun discussed the dynamics of a live-action rendition of Invincible and admitted it was impossible for him to play his character. However, it should also be noted that Yeun did say, “Who knows?” in response to being cast in this theoretical scenario, so it seems that he is open to the idea. He also praised Robert Kirkman, Invincible’s writer, stating, “We’ll see. I love working with Robert. That comic is so great, and it goes so long and so deep…So, I’m excited to see that play itself out. Right now, we’re having a lot of fun making this show. Live action – who knows?”
