This June, all will be disclosed. A new trailer has been released for the next film from directing icon Steven Spielberg, Disclosure Day. Disclosure Day finds the human race experiencing random, bizarre occurrences that go beyond any possible explanation or reasoning. But as an answer begins to form, humanity must face the idea that they aren’t alone in the universe when they find out that another species is attempting to contact them.
Emily Blunt, most recently seen in The Smashing Machine, leads an all star cast under Spielberg’s direction. Blunt is joined by Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo, and Wyatt Russell, among many others.
Whereas the initial trailer focused on the mysticism of the otherworldly visitors, the newest look shifts the attention to the conspiratorial side of the situation. O’Connor’s character gets much of the attention, as a cybersecurity officer stuck between keeping the details a secret or releasing them all to the public. Audiences see just how far his superiors are willing to go to keep matters a secret, as well, promising an elaborate action set piece with a car facing down an oncoming train.
Disclosure Day marks a return to sci-fi for Spielberg after a hiatus from the genre. Known for other game-changing films such as E.T. And Jurassic Park, many of his most recent films have been more grounded in their approach. The most notable of these was 2022’s The Fabelmans, which was Spielberg’s own autobiographical film based on his upbringing and nurturing his early love of film.
Disclosure Day hits theaters June 12th. Check out the trailer below.
