Avatar: Fire And Ash’s holiday release is fast approaching, and the closer it gets, more and more is being shared about the film. One such bit of information, shared by Stephen Lang, confirms that his scenes are wrapped-up for the upcoming third film.
In the first two Avatar films, Lang played Colonel Miles Quaritch, the head of the military installation on Pandora. He attempts to lure Jake Sully into his way of thinking, but has to lead his forces against that of Jake and the Na’vi when his plans don’t go as he expected.
Lang returns for Avatar: Fire And Ash, after his character was saved by his estranged son in The Way Of Water. Upon reporting on the update, Collider noted that, while unclear exactly what his path with be, Quaritch still has some growing to do, especially after his scenes in The Way Of Water.
Lang himself confirmed to Collider that his scenes have been completed for the third film, but there is still a likelihood that there’s more for him to do. Although Lang said he’s done, James Cameron could always call him back to do more.
“But you know, with Jim, you never know. I believe I’m finished. I’ve already been finished! By God, I’ve shot enough! But as I say, with him, there’s a phone line that’s always open that says, ‘We need you here. Get your ass out here,’ and I’ll be there,” Lang said.
Avatar: Fire And Ash hits theaters December 19th.
