Spider-Who? Spider-Man Missing from ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Cast List

Since the start of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, die-hard fans have all been waiting for one particular event to take place in the ever-growing timeline of the MCU- the Infinity War. Now that we have Joe and Anthony Russo at the helm, we have all been anxiously awaiting the cast list. Collectively each film in Phase One, Two, and most recently with the start of Three have been building the team that is necessary to face off with the mad god Thanos and his Infinity Gauntlet.

According to CinemaBlend, MovieCastingCall.org released an open casting call for its production. As soon as this news broke fans and various news sources scanned the list to see who would be on for Avenger duty.  Most of the “MCU regulars” made the cut such as Chris Evans (Captain America), Robert Downey Jr. (Ironman), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), and Mark Ruffalo (Hulk). Even newer members of the Guardians of the Galaxy will appear with their leader Chris Pratt (Star-Lord). The breakout star of Captain America: Civil War, Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther) made the list alongside the hilarious Paul Rudd (Ant-Man). Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange) finds himself among the ranks of the popular superhero team as well.

So that leaves two more heroes that could possibly show up. It is confirmed that Oscar winner Brie Larson (Room) will appear as Carol Danvers A.K.A. Captain Marvel, BUT there has not been any confirmation of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

This comes as no surprise if you have been following the deal that Marvel has made with Sony. As of right now, the deal appears to be on a film-by-film basis. Marvel head Kevin Feige only announced partnership for two films, Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming. Now that a second installment for the wall-crawler has been announced over at Sony we can expect that partnership to continue. It’s possible Spidey could show up, so, don’t get your webs in a bunch, but we will just have to wait until an official announcement is made.

Avengers: Infinity War isn’t scheduled to hit theaters until May 2018 so we have a ton of time to speculate until then. Check back for more updates!
