According to Deadline, Sony Pictures Animation, the studio behind the animated Spider-Verse movies, is in early development of an animated spin-off film based on Spider-Punk, the character who first appeared in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Daniel Kaluuya, who voiced Spider-Punk in Across the Spider-Verse, will co-write the film, along with Ajon Singh.

No other details about the film, such as the plot, the cast, or who will be directing the film, are currently known. However, it can be safely assumed that Kaluuya will be voicing Spider-Punk, as he did in Across the Spider-Verse. Kaluuya will also be voicing the character in the third Spider-Verse film, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, which, after copious production issues and an indefinite delay, is currently slated to release in theaters on June 25, 2027.

Other Spider-Man projects that are known to be in the works include Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is currently in the middle of production and due for release on July 30th, 2026; the previously mentioned Beyond the Spider-Verse; and a live-action Spider-Man Noir series starring Nicholas Cage, which is set to premiere on MGM+ next year. Along with this Spider-Punk movie, Daniel Kaluuya is also working on a live-action Barney movie, which he will be producing through his 59% Productions banner, in collaboration with Mattel and A24.
