According to Deadline, Spider-Man: No Way Home is sure to be a big hit in theaters this December, the trailer already surpassing Avengers: Endgame all-time record of most trailer views in 24 hours.
The teaser was dropped at CinemaCon and on social media Monday night, and the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home has now racked up 355.5 million global views in its first 24 hours up, ahead of Endgame’s 289 million.
Deadline reports No Way Home’s results are more than double that of the second trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home, which hit 135M views at the 24-hour mark.
There’s obviously a lot of excitement surrounding this particular Spider-Man movie. As the eighth installment from Sony, No Way Home will be unlike any other film in the franchise. As seen in the trailer, the film will include Disney/MCU’s grand multiverse plan that they’ve been exploring already in the Disney+ series WandaVision and Loki.
The trailer reveals much of the story already: Peter Parker (Tom Holland) asks Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to cast a spell to make the whole world forget that Parker is Spider-Man. But the risky spell goes awry, and the tampering of space-time leads to mass chaos, bending and flipping buildings that defy the laws of gravity, and the comeback of Alfred Molina’s villain Doc Ock from the Tobey Maguire movie. Maguire may even make a cameo in the new movie here with his character (though that’s still speculation among the fanbase).
No Way Home’s teaser trailer generated the largest 24-hour social media conversation volume of all-time with 4.5M mentions globally. It also generated 2.91M mentions in 24 hours, ahead of Endgame’s 1.94M mentions domestically.
Spider-Man: No Way Home premieres exclusively in movie theaters on December 17. Be sure to watch the trailer below and check the film out when it hits theaters!
