Spider-Man: No Way Home has become Sony Pictures’ highest-grossing film of all time. According to Collider, the film has accumulated a staggering $516 million domestically and over $640 million internationally for a worldwide total of $1.16 billion.
Directed by Jon Watts and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: No Way Home grossed $21.3 million domestically on Tuesday from over 4,000 locations, making Holland’s Peter Parker film the third fastest in history to reach $500 million.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is already Sony’s highest-grossing film in North America, surpassing Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which made around $404 million. With its worldwide gross, No Way Home overtakes previous installments from the Spider-Man franchise, including Spider-Man: Far From Home with $390 million.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is the last installment of the “Home” franchise that began with Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home. In this film, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) seeks help from Doctor Strange regarding his hidden identity and ends up tampering with the multiverse.
The film also features Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jacob Battalion, Jon Favreau, and Marisa Tomei. Additionally, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, Jamie Foxx, Rhys Ifans, and Thomas Haden Church all reprise their roles as villains from earlier Spider-Man films.
