‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Adds Hannibal Buress

Ever since his appearance in the trailer for Captain America: Civil War, most of the more interesting news from Marvel has circled around Spider-Man: Homecoming. The latest buzz about the upcoming film is the inclusion of comedians Hannibal Buress and Donald Glover. Buress is just the latest installment to star studded cast that includes Robert Dowey Jr. (reprising his role as Iron Man), Tom Holland (Peter Parker/Spider-Man), and Michael Keaton (presumably as villain Vulture).

The casting of Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambino, was somewhat of a coincidence because in one of his comedy specials he mentioned rumors that he would play Spider-Man in the last incarnation of the webslinging franchise. This rumor spread along as people lost their minds over the idea of a movie about the Miles Morales. The rumor did not come true however, and instead we got The Amazing Spider-Man with Andrew Garfield, however many of Donald’s fans remained hyped for his possible involvement in the Spider-Man franchise.

Hannibal Buress has been growing in popularity in major motion pictures, and already has a good reputation as a comedian; fans of The Eric Andre show know why. Little is known about the role he will play, but with his talent we can hope that he has more than just a cameo, or one scene appearance.

With more news to come about the latest Spiderman movie we can expect to learn more about what kind of characters Donald, and Hannibal will play. Production for Spider-Man: Homecoming will begin later this summer where Marvel Studios will have their turn with character in a co-production with Sony.
