Columbia Pictures has finally released the trailer for Uncharted. Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg will play the two protagonists for the movie based on the successful PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 game series, with Antonio Banderas as the antagonist.
From what can be seen from the trailer the film is going to be visually stunning with tons of spectacular actions sequences and beautiful scenes that will be familiar to fans of the game franchise. A very young Nathan Drake (Tom Holland ) is recruited by Sully, (Mark Wahlberg) to embark on a treasure hunting adventure. Together, they search for the lost treasure of Fernando de Magallanes, the Portuguese explorer from the 16th century who was the first man to travel around the globe, accompanied by a Spanish ship and crew. Antonio Banderas seems to be a descendant of the 16th-century adventurer and considers the lost treasure to be his birthright. He will stop at nothing to get to the treasure before Nathan and Sully do.
After many delays in preproduction due to multiple directors dropping the project, Columbia Pictures and PlayStation Productions were able to get Venom director Ruben Fleischer on it. The casting of Tom Holland was considered by many fans a mistake because he is too young for the character. But the story in the trailer hints that this might be a sort of origin story which would explain casting a younger actor for Nathan.
