Southern California Wildfires Delay Mammoth Film Festival

The wildfires raging through Southern California have disrupted countless lives and events. The entertainment industry itself already faced several setbacks due to them, now including the Mammoth Film Festival.

The Mammoth Film Festival has covered many works over the years since its establishment. One of the films it showed was a documentary focused on Quentin Tarantino’s career from Tara Wood, dubbed QT8: The First Eight. As the title suggests, the documentary specifically focuses on the first eight films of Tarantino’s filmography.

Located within the Californian Mammoth Lakes, the festival pulls all sorts of talent from all around.

Hollywood Reporter, who originally reported on the news, noted that buyers or interested companies for the projects are widely located within California, and are affected by the wildfires.

Hollywood Reporter also noted that a statement directly from Tanner Beard and Tomik Mansoori, the founders of the festival, was released regarding the delay in the events.

Part of the statement included the notion that the festival wants to be an equal opportunity platform for filmmakers of all kinds. Continuing, they stated that “this postponement will allow us to uphold the high standards that have defined the Mammoth Film Festival experience.”

There is no new date set for the event as of yet.
