More movie releases dates have been shifting, with Disney officially changing the date to one of the few movies not yet pushed back due to COVID-19. Pixar’s newest animated film Soul will now be released this November, rather than its original June 20th release. The film is now replacing Raya the Last Dragon’s release date, which will now come out on March 12th, 2021.
This is obviously due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic as Soul has been cited as fairly far into production, with the studio already releasing two trailers in the span of a few months. Very little has been revealed regarding Raya and the Last Dragon as the only thing release officially for the film is concept art with no official trailer or images out for the film yet.
While it is unfortunate that animation fans will have to wait even longer for Soul and Raya and the Last Dragon, it was ultimately inevitable given the situation we are dealing with at this time. With many movie theaters closed throughout the entire world, it’s hard to determine when the movie theater experience will return. Hopefully within the next few months, audiences will be able to flock to see the new animated films we were promised from Disney and Pixar.
Soul is set for released November 20th 2020, while Raya and the Last Dragon is set for released March 12th 2020.
