Aaron Taylor-Johnson stars in the new Sony movie Kraven the Hunter, which released its first trailer earlier this week. The film delves deep into the origin story of Kraven, also known as Sergi Dimitri Kravenoff, and explores his superhuman abilities, as well as his tumultuous relationship with his father.
First appearing in the 1964 The Amazing Spider-Man comic, Kraven is notorious for being a vicious and brutal killer determined to track down the beloved superhero. He is also known for being a member of the infamous “Sinister Six,” which includes other Spider-man villains like Doctor Octopus (Doc Ock), Electro, Mysterio, Sandman, and Vulture.
This project is one of Sony Pictures’ newest endeavors in partnership with Marvel Studios. The partnership has also produced various Spider-Man villain spinoff movies, such as Venom (2018) and Morbius (2022). In this villain-centered movie, audiences can expect to see other talented actors alongside Johnson, including Ariana DeBose, Christopher Abbott, Alessandro Nivola, and more.
Following Sony’s teasing of the film during the industry event CinemaCon in early April, it has been officially confirmed that Kraven the Hunter will hit theaters on October 6th, 2023
