Sony Announces The Wide Release Of Robert Zemeckis’ ‘Here’

Here is almost here. The film had been billed as an original story focusing on family drama across generations in one place. Directed by Robert Zemeckis with Tom Hanks and Robin Wright staring, the film explores the complex and emotional ties of family, both young and old, and the impact of time. Hanks and Wright are joined by supporting cast members Paul Bettany, Kelly Reilly, and Michell Dockery for this family epic. Sony and Tristar have set the theatrical premiere for the fall.

The film across its development has been likened to Forest Gump. With Eric Roth adapting the screenplay from the best-selling graphic novel of the same name by Richard McGuire, the movie shares similar themes and source material, besides its cast and crew with Forest Gump. The film’s producers and executive producers are Jack Rapke, Bill Block, and Derek Hogue, under the executive guidance of Jeremy Johns, Thom Zadra, and Andrew Golov, who have all been working on the film with Zemeckis to bring the core of the story to life.

The premiere for Here is set to begin on Nov. 15 with limited showings in both Los Angeles and New York. After this, the limited release will expand to all participating theaters on Nov. 22, just in time for the holidays. The wide release will commence only a few days later on Nov. 27.

To quote the promotional logline, Here sets out to “capture human experience in its purest form.” Now, movie fans must wait to see whether the film will move audiences to tears, much like its spiritual predecessor Forest Gump.
