According to an exclusive by Deadline, well-known funny woman Kate McKinnon has been cast in the upcoming Fox News Film depicting the toxic and anti-female working situations within the Fox News business.
The film, although still unnamed, will specifically follow the story of the women who took on Roger Ailes in order to get back the respect and recognition they deserved from the station.
The film will be directed by Jay Roach, and it is filled with recognizable names within its cast.
While McKinnon will be playing a female producer who is completely fictionalized for the film, Charlize Theron will play Megyn Kelly, Nicole Kidman will play Gretchen Carlson, Margo Robbie will portray an associate producer, and John Lithgow will play Ailes himself. Allison Janney has also joined the extensive and talented cast.
Other Fox faces that will be portrayed in the film include Bill Shine, Judy Roginsky, Jeanine Pirro, and James and Lachlan Murdoch.
McKinnon is most recognizable from her Emmy-Award winning work in SNL, and she can be seen in films including the remake of Ghostbusters as well as the recently released The Spy Who Dumped Me.
