A sneak peek of Americana has been released, and you can watch it right now. The clip features Euphoria’s Sydney Sweeney, Halsey (who we named for Song of the Year in 2021), and Paul Walter Hauser. Halsey’s character, Lefty Ledbetter, is filling up her car at a gas station when she is approached at gunpoint by Sweeny’s character, Penny Jo Poplin, asking about an “artifact.”
Americana was written and directed by Tony Tost. It was produced by Alex Saks and had a runtime of 107 minutes. In addition to the three stars mentioned previously, it also stars Eric Dane, Zahn McClarnon, Gavin Maddox Bergman, Simon Rex, Derek Hinkey, Toby Huss, and Harriet Sansom Harris.
The synopsis for the film reads:
“Unlikely heroes and villains must navigate a complex playing field in pursuit of a legendary Native American artifact with ties to the complicated history of the American West in this elevated, darkly comedic crime thriller.”
Americana premiered at SXSW Film & Festival on Friday, March 17.
