‘Smile’ Filmmaker Parker Finn Founds Production Company Bad Feeling

Smile filmmaker Parker Finn and producer Jonathan Fass have partnered to release their new horror-based production company, Bad Feeling. Finn is the founder and head of the company, while Fass will act as the head of development.

According to the duo, their main goal is to provide a distinct variety of horror films for the genre’s ever-expanding fanbase. Their mission statement promises to “event-ize the unusual while bringing a bespoke, craft-centric approach to commercial genre storytelling.” That way, more filmmakers can try to push boundaries and provide audiences with a new experience.

Fass and Finn worked together in the past. Fass acted as a producer on the set of Laura Hasn’t Slept, the short film directed by Finn that would form the basis of Smile. Since then, Fass has worked at the Sister independent production company for the past four years.

Due to their past and current accomplishments, both have expressed high hopes regarding their collaboration and the future of their company. Fass praised the junior filmmaker, calling him “a collaborator and a friend for many years” and proclaimed his excitement working “with him to build Bad Feeling into a premier home for fearless modern genre filmmakers.” Finn complimented Fass’ “impeccable taste and…razor-sharp approach to genre storytelling” while expressing his excitement to build up on the company.

Bad Feeling will be based at Paramount, with whom Finn has a first-look deal, and repped by CAA, Grandview, and Jackoway Austen’s Jeff Hynick.
