Shawn Levy to Direct Bill Graham Biopic

20th Century Fox has acquired the rights to the autobiography Bill Graham: My Life Inside Rock and Out, written with Robert Greenfield, and has brought on board Shawn Levy (This Is Where I Leave You) to direct the feature.

Known for bringing some of the most legendary music artists to San Francisco and redefining the live music scene via his concert venues, the Fillmore and Winterland, Graham was known for his mercurial personality. Escaping the Holocaust as a youth, he fled to America to become perhaps the most important influence in live music, helping form the 1960s into the most defining decade for music. With acts like Janis Joplin, the Grateful Dead, and Jefferson Airplane, Graham was the first to turn concerts into major music events. He died in 1991 in a helicopter crash.

Levy is producing several upcoming projects, including Table 19, starring Anna Kendrick, and Story of Your Life, starring Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner.
