Blake Lively stars in The Age of Adaline, as a woman who, after a car crash and a lightning strike, ceases to age. She plays Adaline, a woman who moves through the twentieth and twenty-first centuries untethered to anyone but the family she’d started before the accident, but who is living an empty life in the meantime.
Lively’s Adaline is a woman who is merely living on the edge of society as it runs on without her. She visits her daughter, who grows older and older as she stays young, but there isn’t much else to her life. But one night she meets someone who may just change her life and they way she’s been living it.
The movie features Harrison Ford (Star Wars) as a man she’d known in her life before the accident who is now the father of her new love interest, played by Michiel Huisman (World War Z). Other cast members include Ellen Burstyn (Requiem for a Dream), Kathy Baker (Saving Mr. Banks), and Amanda Crew (Sex Drive). The Age of Adaline is directed by Lee Toland Krieger (Celeste and Jesse Forever) and will premiere everywhere on April 24th. Readers can also check out the film’s first trailer here.
