“What if the asteroid that destroyed dinosaurs, missed?”
That’s the questions the new Pixar movie, The Good Dinosaur, hopes to answer this November. Ahead of its release, the second trailer for the film delivers new details about what the story’s plot and it’s no surprise that it’s already tugging at the heartstrings.
Arlo (voiced by Raymond Ochoa), an Apatosaurus, is separated from his dad, Poppa, and is forced to survive in a world where dinosaurs roam free – including the T-Rex. On his journey, he befriends a most unusual friend, a human boy, and together they embark on an adventure to conquer fear and experience the vast unknown around them.
The second trailer for the film shows new footage and we get a better idea about what the plot will be. New characters are introduced, including a friendly T-Rex (voiced by Sam Elliot) and a pterodactyl named Thunderclap (voiced by Steve Zahn).
“If you ain’t scared, you ain’t alive,” utters the sage T-Rex, hinting at the growth experienced by Arlo in the brave new world.
The film is directed by first-time director Peter Sohn, who previously directed the short Pixar film Partly Cloudy, shown alongside Up. Inside Out writer Meg LeFauve penned the script. This will mark the first time Pixar releases two films in the same year, the first being Inside Out.
The Good Dinosaur will be in theaters this Thanksgiving.
