Marvel star Sebastian Stan has teased what is in store for audiences when his new movie Thunderbolts* strikes into theaters later this year, Screen Rant reports.

On recent appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Stan explained how this film would be different from earlier entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by saying,

“We’re really a group all on our own, you know, on our own island, so to speak.”

Along with Stan, Thunderbolts* stars Florence Pugh, David Harbor, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, and Olga Kurylenko as returning anti-heroes The Winter Soldier, Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, U.S. Agent, Ghost, and Taskmaster, who are reluctantly recruited for a mission by Julia Louis Dreyfuss’s Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.

Stan would go on to praise working with his co-stars, saying,

“Wyatt Russell and David Harbour are some of the funniest people. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is amazing… Florence Pugh.”

While there have been comparisons to the Suicide Squad movies from DC and Warner Bros., Stan mentioned in previous interview with Screen Rant that because of the strong comedic chemistry between the cast, he feels it is more along the lines of 1985’s teen comedy The Breakfast Club, saying,

“Marvel really wanted this to have its own vibe.

Thunderbolts* is scheduled for release on May 2, 2025.
