Months after he was announced to be joining the cast of The Batman Part II, Sebastian Stan has finally broken his silence about joining Matt Reeves’s DC sequel. In an interview with Deadline, Stan discussed the role, describing it as “a challenge, like everything else.”
“I feel like it’s a really ambitious movie, and I think if we do it all right,” he also said,
And obviously I’m so excited about Matt Reeves [directing] because he’s been one of my favorites for a long, long time – I really think it’s going to blow people away. It’s going to surprise a lot of people, I think, too.
Sebastian Stan was announced to be joining the cast of The Batman Part II back in January. He is reportedly playing the role of Harvey Dent, though that has yet to be confirmed, as well as whether he’s also playing Dent’s alter ego, Two-Face. Scarlett Johansson is also rumored to be joining the film as Harvey Dent’s wife, Gilda Dent. Charles Dance has also been confirmed for the film’s cast, and he is reportedly playing Harvey Dent’s father, Christopher Dent.
Matt Reeves is returning to direct The Batman Part II. He is also writing the film with Mattson Tomlin. Robert Pattinson is returning to play Bruce Wayne/Batman. The film is set to begin principal photography in June, with camera tests already underway, which Matt Reeves confirmed in a social media post released just a week ago.
The Batman Part II is set to release in theaters on October 1, 2027.
