During an interview about her recent role in Beau is Afraid, Parker Posey states that she’s interested in returning to the Scream franchise despite her character Jennifer Jolie’s death. Posey recounts how she reunited with the Scream team in a previous interview when asked about the fan theory that her character survived Ghostface’s attack.
Three weeks ago, Posey met them during an interview with WNYC Radio and pitched her return to the franchise. “Can I just be in another dimension and return?” she joked. Jokes aside, Posey says she would love to return, calling her time on the Scream 3 set fun. She fondly wonders how “Wes Craven let me get away with some of the silly stuff I was doing.”
Posey isn’t the only former Scream star to express nostalgia for her time in Woodsboro, especially in her desire to return. From David Arquette’s feelings of FOMO when watching Scream VI to Joshua Jackson wanting to return despite his small role, many former cast members have fond memories of the franchise and express their availability to produce. Even Drew Barrymore, whose character Casey Becker was brutally killed in the first film’s opening, wants to return. “I’m pretty sure a C-section is comparable to what happened to her,” Barrymore says on The Drew Barrymore Show. “With good writing, you can make anything happen.”
