Scarlett Johansson is an established actress with a long list of acting credits. She is very well known for her role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Black Widow. Now, she is joining another franchise with her first role in the newest Jurassic World movie.
Jurassic World: Rebirth will find Johansson alongside Jonathan Bailey, Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, Audrina Miranda, Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvania and Ed Skrein, as they take on the historic creatures. The film is written by David Koepp and directed by Gareth Edwards.
The film is especially important for Johansson as she is a big fan of the Jurassic Park films. The actress spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about her feelings on the upcoming film. She said that she had a meeting with Steven Spielberg, the director of the original film, and she wasn’t sure if she should act nonchalant or reveal her intense obsession surrounding the franchise. “I don’t actually know if he knew the depths of my Jurassic fandom, but I’m hoping that no one explained it to him too thoroughly because it maybe would’ve come off as being a little too much.” She now knows that Spielberg was happy to know how excited she was, and she is glad she did not downplay her enthusiasm too much because she landed the role.
She revealed that she had been trying to be a part of a Jurassic project for about 15 years. Now she is, and it is less than a month away from the film’s release. July 2 will see Jurassic World: Rebirth hit theaters.
