An adaptation of a sci-fi thriller novel starring Joe Keery, Georgina Campbell, and Liam Neeson has been picked up by Samuel Goldwyn Films, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Written and produced by David Koepp of Jurassic Park fame, and adapted from his debut novel, Cold Storage follows employees Teacake, played by Keery, and Naomi, played by Campbell, as their nightshift job at a self-storage facility built atop a former military base devolves into terror when a deadly parasitic fungus escapes from its confines and begins to infect everyone in the building, and the pair must turn to a bioterror operative, played by Neeson, for help to stop it.
Now, Samuel Goldwyn Films has picked up the project for distribution from the film’s production company, StudioCanal, with plans to release Cold Storage theatrically later this year.
Samuel Goldwyn Films president Peter Goldwyn and CEO Ben Feingold discussed the acquisition in a statement, saying:
“We’re happy to continue our relationship with Studiocanal and excited to be handling this thrilling movie.”
Cold Storage will be directed and co-produced by Jonny Campbell and also stars Sosie Bacon, Vanessa Redgrave, and Lesley Manville.
A release date has yet to be announced.
