In a recent Instagram post, Ryan Reynolds seemingly teased that Deadpool will appear in Avengers: Doomsday. The post features what appears to be the Anarchy “A” symbol, graffitiied over the iconic “A” of the Avengers logo. Nothing else can be deciphered from the post, as it doesn’t feature a caption or other attached photos.

Deadpool’s appearance in Doomsday makes sense, as following Deadpool and Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds’ portrayal of the character has officially joined the MCU. It will be interesting to see how Deadpool will be portrayed in Avengers: Doomsday, as the character’s iconic profane nature will most likely be toned down, considering the film will likely be rated PG-13, like the previous Avengers movies and most MCU movies in general.

If the post is teasing Deadpool appearing in Avengers: Doomsday, he will join a stacked cast. That cast includes much of the main Avengers cast, which includes Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang/Ant-Man, and Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson, the new Captain America following the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier TV series and Captain America: Brave New World. The Fantastic Four cast, which includes Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn’s Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Ben Grimm/The Thing, is also returning. Also returning are the Thunderbolts, or The New Avengers cast, which includes Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes, David Harbour’s The Red Guardian, Lewis Pullman as Bob/The Sentry, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S Agent, and Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost.

Also returning are Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi, Tenoch Huerta’s Namor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Winston Duke’s M’Baku, and Letitia Wright as Shuri/the new Black Panther following the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Much of the cast from the Fox Studios’ X-Men films will also be reprising their roles, including Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier, Ian McKellan’s Magneto, Allan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn’s Mystique, and Kelsey Grammer as Hank McCoy/Beast. Finally, Robert Downey Jr. is returning to the MCU, this time playing the main antagonist, Dr. Doom.

Avengers: Doomsday is currently set to be released in theaters on December 18, 2026.
