According to Deadline, Ryan Gosling (The Place Beyond the Pines, Lars and the Real Girls) will no longer be filming in an Untitled film with Daniel Scheinert (Everything Everywhere All At Once, The Death of Dick Long) and Daniel Kwan (Swiss Army Man, Omniboat: A Fast Boat Fantasia), also known as Daniels. Scheduling conflict arose as the film was unable to start filming this summer in Los Angeles after acquiring a California Tax Credit.
Gosling was going to play one of the characters in the Universal Studios film and although Gosling and Daniels hoped to work together, a deal was never created in the first place. Though the Daniels have high hopes for a replacement, the public has not yet received details surrounding the plot of the film. The film will be released on November 19, 2027. With a Playground deal with Universal, the producers of the film will be Jonathan Wang (The Al Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist, The Legend of Ochi), Scheinert, and Kwan.
Gosling is starring in Project Hail Mary, which has gained $300 million worldwide since March 20. Gosling and Amazon MGM Studios held a promotional campaign that lasted a month and a half, which contributed to its grand success. Gosling will also be filming for the adventure sci-fi film Star Wars: Starfighter that will be premiering in 2027.
