Rubik’s Cube Movie in Development from Hyde Park & Endeavor Content

With over 450 million sold worldwide, the Rubik’s Cube is one of the most easily recognizable toys ever made, and now, with the help of Ashok Amritraj’s Hyde Park Entertainment Group and Endeavor Content, the iconic puzzle cube is about to hit the big screen. Hyde Park is also partnering with Endeavor Content’s Glassman Media to create a game show centered around the toy. The film will be produced by Amritraj and executive produced by Priya Amritraj and Addison Mehr for Hyde Park.

“I’ve had a personal and nostalgic connection to the Rubik’s Cube from my early days in India,” said Amritraj. “I am thrilled to partner with Endeavor Content and Rubik’s/Smiley and look forward to creating a wonderful and complex Rubik’s universe.”

The Rubik’s Cube was created by Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture, Erno Rubik, back in 1974. It was then licensed by Rubik to be sold by Ideal Toy Corp. in 1980. Since 2018, Rubik’s Cube “speedcubers”, both amateur and professional, have traveled across the world to prove their skill in the Rubik’s Cube World Championship Finals held in Boston.

“The Rubik’s Cube is an iconic and family friendly brand,” said Co-President of Endeavor Content, Graham Taylor. “In Partnership with Hyde Park we look forward to creating film, television, and game show content for global audiences.”
