As AI technology gradually starts to move into our homes and follow us around in our pocket, it makes for prime science fiction and horror material. But, the upcoming film Lexi, from CBS films, will be taking a comedic approach to the issue and is recruiting an all-star cast and crew to tell the story.
Rose Byrne, Justin Hartley, and Wanda Sykes have just signed onto the film joining Michael Peña, Adam Devine, and Alexandra Shipp. Bad Moms’ Jon Lucas and Scott Moore will be leading the project once again as writers and directors.
Bryne will be playing the voice of AI personal assistant service Lexi, who goes overboard trying to improve the life of the user. The film will discuss the ways that technology plays too large in role in many of our lives and show the ways that disconnecting can enrich your life.
With a cast of veteran comedians and writer-directors experienced in the world of comedy, it looks like Lexi will be a major comedy film of its season. The film is in production now, so look out for more news and trailers later this year with a release likely in early 2020.
