Seasons will be directed by Drew Hancock (Companion) and is being described as a horror-thriller from Amazon MGM Studios.  Ron Perlman (Sons of Anarchy, Drive) joins a cast already including Lily James (Baby Driver, Cinderella) and Jack Reynor (Midsommar, Lee Cronin’s The Mummy).

Hancock also penned the script, working off the novel that was originally written by Harrison and Matt Query.  There is a long list of producers attached, including: Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, Dan Levine, Michael Clear, Scott Glasgold, James Wan, and Jason Blum.  The key here is that the majority of these producers come from a horror background.  Everyone excluding Glassgold earned a producer credit for Backrooms, the horror hit from earlier this year from director Kane Parsons.  The story for the film is described as follows.

“The story follows a husband and wife who buy their dream ranch only to discover the land is alive with ancient spirits, and survival means submitting to increasingly disturbing rituals with each turn of the season.”

James and Reynor are said to be playing the couple, with Perlman signed on to play their neighbor, someone who is ignorant to these rituals.  Production is set to kick into gear this upcoming September in Ireland.
