Earlier tonight Rob Reiner renowned film director and his wife Michelle Reiner were found dead of lacerations that appear to have been inflicted by knife in their apartment on 200 block of South Chadbourne Avenue in Los Angeles California. A call was reportedly placed earlier in the day at 3:38 p.m. for medical aid to be sent to that address leading to the discovery of the bodies of the Reiners. List of Los Angeles Fire Department TMZ reported on the scene that the LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division is taking over the investigation.
Authorities have yet to make any more public press announcements regarding any details of the investigation. A spokesperson for the Reiner family has issue statement late Sunday night requesting privacy for the family as they grieve regarding any inquiries into the event describing the loss as tragic.
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time,”
Reiner was an established and beloved director of many classic films and involved in numerous projects ranging from TV shows, theatrical feature films and documentaries. He is best known for his work on The Princess Bride When Harry Met Sally, Spinal Tap and All in the Family for his appearance as Meathead. The Reiners are there for survived by the next closest of kin, their children Jake, Nick and Romy and Rob’s daughter from his first marriage to director Penny Marshall, Teacey.
