According to Empire, British actor Jack O’Connell (Harry Brown) is set to sign on for the upcoming Universal spy thriller Section 6. The film will follow the founding of the famed British intelligence agency MI6, mythicized by the fictional exploits of James Bond. Unlike the 007 films, Section 6 will be a fact-based undertaking.
O’Connell is quickly building an impressive resume of action and dramatic roles. He recently wrapped up filming on Angelina Jolie’s POW drama Unbroken, in which he stars as Olympian and war hero Louis Zamperini; and come March he can be seen in the UK indie drama Starred Up. His next film to hit theaters will be 300: Rise of an Empire, the follow-up to the 2007 blockbuster 300, which will hit theaters March 7.
Since Section 6 is still in development there are sure to be many more announcements to come regarding casting and directorial attachments.
