Box Office Projections For Marvel’s ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Place Its Opening Weekend At $180 Million

Marvel has a smash hit on their hands as Deadpool & Wolverine have the biggest opening for an R-rated movie with a total of $180 million.

According to Deadline, on Friday the film made a reported $55 million. The Box Office Company says that 43% of the weekend’s showtimes are for Deadpool & Wolverine, estimating the film could debut at $200 million.

This is recent win for Marvel and the superhero industry, as it is outperforming recent installments to the Marvel franchise. Including Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ($187.4 million after 3 days).

It stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as its titular characters and was directed by Shawn Levy.
