Variety reports Bridget Jones Diary actress Renee Zellweger is joining James Bond starDaniel Craig in the courtroom thriller The Whole Truth. Zellweger has signed on to act opposite Craig, who plays a district attorney. Information on the courtroom drama is being kept under wraps. Zellweger’s role will be revealed much later in the future as casting continues underway and the film starts shooting.
The Whole Truth will be Zellwegger’s first acting appearance in four years. Her most recent role was in 2010 film, My Own Love Song. Craig is returning from his Broadway run in Betrayal. This past January, Craig joined the cast of The Whole Truth, one week ahead of the Berlin Film Festival.
Frozen River director Courntey Hunt has already signed on to direct The Whole Truth with Matilda screenwriter Nicholas Kazan handling the script. Richard Suckle from Atlas Entertainment will be producing the project. Hunt plans on directing The Whole Truth straight from Kazan’s already written screenplay. No other actors or distribution companies have been confirmed.
