Release Date Set for Paul Thomas Anderson/Daniel Day-Lewis Movie

A release date of December 25th has been set for a new film re-teaming director Paul Thomas Anderson (Inherent Vice) and three-time Oscar-winning actor Daniel Day-Lewis (Lincoln). The two worked together on the critically successfully There Will Be Blood, which garnered 8 Oscar nominations in 2008 and yielded Best Actor Oscar win for Day-Lewis, his second. The release date was announced earlier this week during the Focus Features presentation at Cinema Con.

The production currently has a working title of Phantom Thread. According to The Film Stage, the film is about “an uncompromising dressmaker commissioned by royalty and high society.” Other plot details are being kept under wraps. Also in the cast are Lesley Manville (Another Year), Richard Graham (Vera Drake), and Vicky Krieps (A Most Wanted Man).

Phantom Thread is currently shooting in London.
