Universal has announced that the Coen brother’s newest film Hail, Caesar! will be released on February 6th, 2016. With an ensemble cast full of some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, the story revolves around a day in the life of a Hollywood “fixer” in the 1950s – the end of Hollywood’s Golden Age – as he tries to keep his stars in line. The film will star Josh Brolin, George Clooney, Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, Scarlett Johansson, and comedy heavy-hitters Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill. These casting choices seem to point toward a more lightly comedic film after the Coens’ more recent dark films like Inside Llewyn Davis (2013), True Grit (2010), and A Serious Man (2009). It has also been pointed out that this film may be the conclusion of the “Numbskull Trilogy,” which started with O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000) and Intolerable Cruelty (2003).
