Regina Hall (Support the Girls, Girls Trip) has signed on to join Jennifer Aniston and Peter Dinklage in Naughty, Universal Pictures’ upcoming holiday comedy directed by Olivia Wilde (Booksmart, The Invite).
The project, which originated from an original spec script by Jimmy Warden (Cocaine Bear), centers on Mallory (Aniston), a mother fighting an uphill battle to secure custody of her son from her manipulative ex-husband. Convinced traditional legal avenues won’t suffice, she embarks on an odyssey to find Santa Claus (Dinklage) and persuade him to testify on her behalf at her divorce hearing. Hall is slated to play Mallory’s friend who accompanies her on the trek to the North Pole, joining a cast that also features Chase Sui Wonders (The Studio).
Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley, and Josey McNamara will produce via their LuckyChap Entertainment banner alongside Wilde and Warden. Universal’s Executive Vice President of Production Development Sara Scott and Director of Production Development Jacqueline Garell are overseeing development for the studio.
Universal has slated Naughty for a theatrical release on November 5, 2027.
Hall continues a prolific stretch that includes a critically acclaimed turn in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn, as well as reprising her signature role as Brenda Meeks in the summer box-office hit Scary Movie 6. Her upcoming slate includes Nick Stoller’s Prime Video feature Judgment Day opposite Will Ferrell, Netflix’s limited drama series Rabbit, Rabbit with Adam Driver, and United Artists’ Lizard Music opposite Dwayne Johnson.
