As Oscar Sunday approaches on March 5, the winners of the 2025 Razzies have been revealed. Leading the pack in awards with three wins, including worst picture, is Sony’s Madam Web. The film also won worst screenplay, and Dakota Johnson won worst actress.
Johnson has spoken out about her experience with Madam Web, saying the script drastically changed from what she initially read and it’s unlikely she will “do anything like it again.”
Jerry Seinfeld won worst actor for his work in the Netflix Pop-Tarts movie, Unfrosted. His co-star Amy Schumer also won worst supporting actress.
Many films won two awards each: Joker: Folie à Deux, which led the Razzie nominations with seven; Unfrosted; and Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis.
Coppola celebrated his “honor” of winning worst director, joining a small list of stars, including Sandra Bullock, who have accepted their Razzie award. Coppola took to Instagram to share his “honor.”
“I am thrilled to accept the Razzie award in so many important categories for Megalopolis, and for the distinctive honor of being nominated as the worst director, worst screenplay, and worst picture at a time when so few have the courage to go against the prevailing trends of contemporary moviemaking!” he wrote. “In this wreck of a world today, where ART is given scores as if it were professional wrestling, I chose to NOT follow the gutless rules laid down by an industry so terrified of risk that despite the enormous pool of young talent at its disposal, may not create pictures that will be relevant and alive 50 years from now.”
Jon Voight also won worst supporting actor for Megalopolis. Joker’s sequel, Joker: Folie à Deux, won worst screen combo of Phoenix and Lady Gaga, and worst sequel. Phoenix and Coppola are now in an elite club of winning an Oscar and a Razzie.
Pamela Anderson won the Razzie Redeemer award, given to a former Razzie winner who has been celebrated in a future work. Anderson was named worst new star for 1996’s Barb Wire, but received critical acclaim and award recognition for her work in The Last Showgirl.
The Razzie Awards, called the $4.97 trophies by the organization, were determined by votes of 1,217 Razzie members, which the organizations says consists of movie buffs, film critics, and journalists spanning 49 states and about 24 foreign countries. The Redeemer Award is determined by the Razzie Board of Governors.
