As Superman will be released this year on July 11, 2025, director James Gunn, who recently became co-CEO of DC Studios, has claimed that this movie will start a new DC Universe following Zack Snyder’s previous productions. The upcoming DC picture will star David Corenswet in the titular role as Superman and will feature his reconciliation with his human upbringing with his original Kryptonian heritage.
Rachel Brosnahan will star as Superman/Clark Kent’s love interest, Lois Lane, in the upcoming film. She was recently interviewed by The Hollywood Reporter by saying how she did not talk with other women who played in preceding Superman films but has talked many other journalists to prepare for the major role. She was reported by stating,
“I felt like I was focused on the journalism piece, I spoke to a handful of journalists who really helped me get inside the head of a modern reporter. I feel like one of the most interesting things about this character is that she’s changed so much from her inception to kind of reflect what it would look like to be a modern, relentless, kind of intense, slightly messy reporter of that time. So I feel like I really relied on the handful of journalists I spoke to to help me build her.”
Since this will jump start the new DC Universe, actor Nicholas Hoult will be playing Superman’s arch nemesis, Lex Luthor. The film will also star Isabela Merced, Milly Alcock, and Nathan Fillion. Watch the teaser trailer for Superman here.
