The Academy Award Ceremony has been known to have elaborate performances of the nominated songs for the Best Original Song Category. This year however, they have thought of a new performance to showcase despite this film not having an original song to be nominated. It was announced that Queen will perform at the Oscars in celebration of the film, Bohemian Rhapsody, which is nominated for five awards including Best Picture.
Instead of Freddie Mercury for obvious reasons however, the band performance is said to be lead by Adam Lambert of American Idol fame. The performer stated in a tweet that, “We Will Rock The Oscars”, informing that he will be singing the iconic Queen songs during the telecast.

It is unknown how this performance will fully go however with the Oscars giving very little information on the subject. However it’ll still be a performance that will be shared similarly to all of the other Oscar Nominated Songs for the 2019 Award Show. Including “Shallows” performed by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper from A Star is Born, “I’ll Fight” performed by Jennifer Hudson from the movie RBG, and “When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings” performed by Gillian Welch and David Rawlings from The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.
It was also reported that surprise guest Bette Midler will perform “The Places I’ll Go” from Mary Poppins Returns. There has not been a confirmation on if Black Panther‘s “All the Stars” will be performed at the Oscars by Kendrick Lamar and SZA. Whatever the case, it will certainly be a music-filled show in this year’s Academy Award Ceremony.
